ochi-Muziris Biennale (KMB) is a international art festival, exhibitions and expos held in Kochi.

Kochi Biennale is a celebration of the contemporary global art with displays of artworks & art installations. Both Indian and International artists of repute showcases their creation through a wide variety of mediums.

Besides the exhibitions, the Kochi-Muziris Biennale also conducts film screenings, talks, seminars, qrt workshops, music programs and other educational programs.

Kochi-Muziris Biennale Venue Majority of the venue and the Biennale action is along the 4km ( 2½ miles) long seafront arc along the northeast part of the Fort Kochi.

Aspinwall House is the main venue, located close to the Fork Kochi ferry point. The next main vinue is Pepper House, located 500m east and Anand Warehouse, 1½km further east of Pepper House.

Binale insallations are scattered around the arc north of Fortcock , running parallel and closer to the seaside.

Start from the venues scattered around the Mattancherry Palace . Trek your way up along the Bazaar Road ( runs parallel to the seafront). Finish at the venues around the Parade Ground. You would walk 4 to 6km altogether including inside the venues!

Muziris was an ancient city, located close to the modern Kochi.
This port city of the bygone era was key to the interactions between South India and Persia, the Middle East, North Africa, and the (Greek and Roman) Mediterranean region.

It had historic cultural and trade exchange with the many contemporary foreign cities of these regions. Today Muziris is an active archaeology site.

How to reach the biennale venue?
Arrive in Kochi by Train, Road or Air.

Take any Fort Kochi or Mattancherry bound city bus from Ernakulam city. You'll get a bus in every 5 minutes. The last stop is the island of Fort Kochi.

Or take a ferry from Ernakulam Boat Jetty to Fort Kochi. If you want to take your car or Bike on the ferry, try the the Jankar ferry from Vypeen.
